How it works

Matched by AI, structured by a specialist

Tax debt has become more expensive to carry. The ATO’s general interest charge is set at the 90-day bank bill rate plus 7 percentage points, and since 1 July 2025 it is no longer tax deductible for businesses. Interest on a business loan used for business purposes generally is deductible.

Lenders usually want to see your lodgements up to date and a clear picture of the debt, so start with your ATO statement of account (or a rough figure). We’ll tell you what’s realistic and which lenders on our panel will consider it.

Every deal is AI-matched across our panel of 30+ lenders (Big 4, mid-tier and private) for the best fit and quickest turnaround. Larger or more complex deals are handled personally by one of our finance professionals. After settlement you get access to our client portal to track your loans, upcoming payments and documents.

Questions

ATO debt refinancing: common questions

Can I refinance an ATO payment plan?

Yes. Many lenders will pay out the ATO debt so you have one loan repayment instead of a payment plan.

Do my lodgements need to be up to date?

Most lenders require it. Tell us if they aren’t; we’ll work through options with you and your accountant.

Is the interest tax deductible?

Interest on a business loan used for business purposes is generally deductible, unlike the ATO’s GIC since July 2025. Confirm with your accountant.

Will the assessment affect my credit score?

No. There’s no credit check until you choose to apply.
